The Pirate Via Ferrata at Speikboden is the perfect beginner route for children and first-time climbers.
On Speikboden, we offer the ideal via ferrata experience for both young and aspiring climbers.

Just as exciting as the climbing itself is this short adventure through a true pirate world on the rock. You enter the via ferrata via a climbing net, squeeze past trees, discover a real ship’s steering wheel and climb over pirate swords along the way. Could there even be a real pirate waiting for you? The ship’s bell lets everyone know when another young pirate has successfully completed the climb.

Difficulty: A/B (easy), suitable from age 6
Start/Finish: Speikboden Alm station at 2,000 m, accessible by the Speikboden cable car
Approach: 50 m elevation gain, approx. 20 minutes
Climb: 70 m elevation gain, approx. 1 hour
Total duration: at least 2 hours
Equipment: via ferrata set, helmet, sturdy footwear (rental equipment available at Speikboden Alm station)
Note: Young children should ideally be additionally secured with a short safety rope
