The Ice Games – Sculptures from Snow & Ice

The Klausberg - the stage for the Ice Games. Every year, international artists gather here, those who have found their passion in the white beauty: they enchant ice blocks into true artworks, creating transient sculptures from frozen water. Each January, the ice kings and queens convene at an elevation of 2,500 meters. Over four days, these ice artists hammer, carve, and sculpt various shapes into the ice blocks.

As long as the spring sun has not yet unleashed its full power, the icy creations remain nearly untouched until mid-March atop the summit of K2. Rarely a place where one simply passes by without taking notice, sometimes a spot for reflection and contemplation, always a hotspot for a popular photo opportunity. Art and culture.
